We had the pleasure of working with a major IT company to run a series of sales incentives for their global workforce. For the launch of the incentive, it was decided to hold this somewhere in the Caribbean.
sms:events researched several islands for the event and concentrated our search on how accessible the locations were regarding flight access from the client’s major locations around the world. St Lucia became a clear favourite, and we then presented the client with a few venue options and a very exciting and dynamic programme.
Following on from the site visit Marigot Bay Resort was selected. Offering the property on a totally exclusive basis meant we had free reign to organise a very special event utilising all areas of the property – internally and externally.
Working with our ground agent on the island – Barefoot Holidays – we were able to pull together an imaginative and creative ground programme – offering the incentive winners that “once in a lifetime” experience.
We built a bespoke registration system – branded around the incentive – and were able to communicate effectively and directly with guests regarding their travel arrangements, their chosen activities and information regarding the hotel and destination. A beautiful brochure about the trip was produced and mailed to guests with their personalised itinerary and travel documents in advance of the trip.
On arrival at the airport guests were transported to a local marina and from there transferred to the hotel by luxury boat – so their first view of the property was of that beautiful bay. Luggage was transported separately and was ready and waiting in their room after check-in.
Guests were able to select from a range of optional activities during their 4-night stay including snorkelling, sailing, kayaking, deep sea fishing, sea trek (an amazing underwater experience), rainforest zip line, a visit to Soufriere with a mud bath and waterfall thrown in, a Safari Tour with a local guide and of course rum tasting!
Evening events included an informal dine around for the group, a very special dinner at Government House with the Governor General of the Island and a final night dinner at Marigot Bay under the stars with fireworks and an incredible New York based dance band.
All in all, the event was deemed to be a massive success and the feedback we received from the client and guests was incredible.
